Did you know you can catch a bird if you can get salt on its tail?

Telling the Cookie Bear story reminded me of a long running challenge that has still never been accomplished.

When Tripp was little he always wanted to touch one of the birds that would come to the feeder at Nana and Papa's. They told him that if he could sneak up slowly and get some salt on its tail, it couldn't fly away. He was very determined and kept trying. It was so cute to see him out there stalking birds with a handful of salt.

One time while visiting, he stalked one for a long time, almost got to it and it flew away at the last minute. Papa said that's the first time he heard Tripp yell a bad word (can't imagine where he learned it from....hum....mommy never lets those words fly *rolling my eyes*).
Papa said he cracked up and we've been telling that story ever since. :-)
