Remote Control Airplanes Field Trip

We got to go on a field trip in Austin today to see some amazing remote control airplanes.  We went to the Hill Country Aero Modelers "airport" at Mary Moore Searight Metro Park.  It was even more fun since we got to take Leo & Jacob with us!
There were about 8 flight volunteers to educate us, fly the planes and help make balsa wood and paper planes for the kids. They were all wonderful.
It was a great fieldtrip and, as you can imagine, Tripp is chopping at the bit to build one.  The last photo of the funny shaped one is made from the foam you get at Lowe's and fairly cheap and easy to make.  Looks like Rick and Tripp are going to have to get busy! :-)
